About the Journal

Independent (P-ISSN 2775-2011 | E-ISSN 2775-1090) is an open-access, peer-reviewed law journal published biannually by the Faculty of Law, Islamic University of Lamongan. The journal serves as a platform for the dissemination of critical, innovative, and high-quality scholarly works in the field of law, focusing on analyses of the evolving legal systems in response to emerging global, regional, and national challenges.

Established in 2013, Independent has grown into an inclusive academic forum for scholars, researchers, and emerging legal practitioners. Upholding both accessibility and academic rigor, the journal encourages contributions— including from students—that demonstrate conceptual clarity, theoretical depth, and methodological precision.
